The Beginning (continued)

 

It felt a bit complicated.

Overwhelming.

Like one more thing to manage.

 

And I saw it over and over again…

 

beautiful hair slowly losing its softness…

its movement…

the very thing they invested in.

 

And at the same time—

I saw something deeper.

 

Women slowly losing themselves a little too.

 

Because when you’re constantly focused on everyone else…

you start to disappear from your own life.

 

And I felt that personally.

 

The only time I really felt like myself again…

was when I would go to Greece.

 

Something about it just slowed everything down.

 

I would take my time.

I would feel present.

I would feel beautiful again—without trying so hard.

 

And every time I came back, I remember thinking…

 

Why does it take leaving my life to feel like myself again?

 

That question stayed with me.

 

And around that same time, I kept thinking about something else—

 

what it felt like to wear my crown when I was Mrs Maryland America.

 

The weight of it.

The presence of it.

The way it made me carry myself differently.

 

It wasn’t about appearance.

 

It was about intention.

 

You don’t just wear a crown casually.

 

You place it on your head with purpose.

 

And that shifted something for me.

 

I realized…

 

I had been so intentional about everyone else—

my clients, their hair, their experience—

 

but not about myself.

 

And I knew my clients felt the same way.

 

That’s where Diadem came from.

 

Not just creating products…

 

but creating something simple enough

that a woman could actually return to herself again.

 

Something that protects what she’s invested in—

her hair, her time, her energy—

 

without asking more from her.

 

Because it’s not just about having beautiful hair.

 

It’s about remembering who you are when you slow down long enough to care for yourself again.

 

Even in the smallest way.

 

Even in a few minutes.

 

With intention.
